At home from the first minute!

Liebe Ginevra, our last stay on the way home has been the region of Valpolicella and we choose our apartment via "booking.com", because of the great architecture and fantastic old walls.
But what we found here was much more than an old Italian Villa, we felt very much at home from the first minute. Because of your warm and friendly welcome!
In times like these ones it is not a matter of course to accommodate foreign people in your private space and face them so open minded and generous. Thank you for that

Absolutely nothing negative to say, our stay has been perfect.
The Villa is stunning and central for all our needs. Nothing has been too much trouble for Ginevra, her attention to detail and kindness has made this holiday what it has become: a brilliant scenery!

This is such a comfortable apartment, with everything you need, in the tower of the most wonderfully atmospheric villa, surrounded by meadows and, behind, the vine-covered hills of Valpolicella. The owner, Ginevra, was as hospitable as could be wished for and gave us plenty of advice, booked a local restaurant, and took us for a tour of her stunningly beautiful family wine estate. It was a pleasure and a privilege to be able stay in her home.
Verona is a ten-minute drive and the cities of Mantua, Padua and Vicenza within easy reach, though the roads are slow - even the motorways sometimes. Lake Garda and D'Annunzio's villa a must. We shall return.
A lovely relaxing stay

Dear Ginevra
thank u so much for hosting us for the start of our trip to Italy. The apartmentt is beautiful and has everything we needed. We used it as a base for visits to Verona and Ala. Well worth for the drive through the Lessinia Park with its amazing scenery. We also visited the Cascades in Molina. We particularly appreciated the attention to detail, expecially in the kitchen. Everything we needed to cook a meal was here- salt, oil etc.
A lovely relaxing stay

Everything we needed in a home!

After fighting traffic noises in Rome, museum crowds in Florence, and aggressive panhandlers on the train, we were a little frazzled by the time we arrived at the train station of Verona. Ginevra, the owner of Villa Verita, came to pick us up in her station wagon. Although it was not in her contract to provide transportation, we were very glad that she did because it was such a relief for all of us not having to drag our luggage around in the hot sun, jostle for taxi, fumble with our maps, or decipher the Italian signs at the bus stop. Ginevra is graceful and very low-key. She did not push for products or restaurants. She gave us all the instructions we needed when we checked in and did not bother us for the rest of our stay, except when we asked for help with taxi and dinner reservations. The studio was tastefully decorated and had everything we needed in a home: a fully equipped kitchen, a clean bathroom and linen, a washing machine (no dryer), comfortable beds and sofas, air conditioning, ceiling fans, WIFI, TV, and a bookshelf full of travel and art books. There was also a couple of sitting areas in the garden by the flowers under the towering spruce trees. What we liked most about this place is its location in a quiet countryside, surrounded by dreamy vineyards, but only 10 minutes from Verona, close to tourist sights and local hangouts such as Lake Garda. Bus stops, restaurants, grocery stores, local wineries are all close-by, within walking distance. We also enjoyed learning about the history of this villa and its lineage to the poet Dante Alighieri. The only thing negative is its stairs. There are two sets: one is stone, wide and uneven; the other, flimsy metal, narrow and spiral, which may be cute to look at but very impractical to use, especially if you have large heavy luggage. It didn't bother us, or maybe just a little. It would not be suitable for people with physical disabilities. We will definitely go back though and stay much longer next time.

We spent 6 nights at Villa Verita staying in Le Columbard apartment. After the challenge of getting our suitcases up the spiral staircase, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment is very well equipped and Ginevra even provides some basic supplies of tea, coffee, spices, plastic wrap etc plus things like large shopping bags for supermarket/market trips which was a nice touch. She also provides a great array of maps and brochures of the city and surrounding areas which were very useful when planning day trips. A trip to Ginevra’s family’s winery was a highlight. We were lucky enough to be able to have an evening at the Opera during our stay and Ginevra was very helpful with providing cushions etc for us to take. We also did a day trip to Venice on the train from Verona, so found Villa Verita a great base for a wide variety of day trips. The only drawback would be the spiral stairs which wouldn’t suit those who have any mobility issues.

We chose the apartment because it looked so beautiful in the photos. It did not disappoint in any way. Only a few miles from the centre of Verona, reached in 5 easy minutes, yet situated in the countryside, this place is a real 'find' if you want to stay somwhere truly atmospheric. We cannot recommend it highly enough. It is more than spacious enough for 4 people, quiet and peaceful yet close to everything you could need (brilliant supermarket 200m away). It deserves the 5* ratings it recieves. Thank you Ginevra for making some of your stunning home available to rent!! Carmel, John, Roz and Dave
